HOUSING COMPLEX IN THERMI, THESSALONIKI

This apartment building is located in the municipality of Thermi on the east side of Thessaloniki. The project is about a three two-storey buildings without fencing, with lofts, pilotis, outdoor parking spaces, main use area on the roof and planted roofs.
The architecture and geometry of the building is simple but special. In relation to the volume, the basic design principle of the buildings follows the lines of the plot, creating a natural continuity both in terms of floor plan and height.
The aim was for the three buildings to visually form a single whole, in which the horizontal lines formed by the balconies stand out, while at the same time the outer wall of the buildings is lost. The choice of white for the handrail of the balconies and other details of the façade, and the anthracite color for the recesses, the outer walls, contributed to this. The roof is planted with low planting. The load-bearing structure of the building is made of reinforced concrete, the walls are made of Ytong, the entire structure is insulated with a thermal façade of 10 cm. and the coating is made of plaster of 3 layers tripto.
