SOCIAL HOUSING IN AGIOS NIKOLAOS, LARNAKA, CYPRUS

Social Housing as a place of symbiosis and interaction needs to be characterized by the harmonic function and coexistence of users from different backgrounds.
These thoughts defined our concept design and our proposal which developed on the basis of the dipole between private and public life. Respecting the users’ privacy combined with
the need of communal spaces OFFICETWENTYFIVEARCHITECTS designed a social housing proposal with basic design principles the respect, the creation, the sustainability and the journey.

The ship was not only a source of inspiration but also a designed tool, because of its attribute to transfer and travel people with different dreams, needs and attitudes,
but all having the same destination, the life.
In other words, everyone comes from a different boat, but we are all on the same ship.

Our proposal refers to the design of two residence buildings with common form, function and typology.
The designed is characterized by extroversion, as it is interacted with the community. the surroundings balconies offers a sense of motion on the facade
while they also have functional and environmental meaning.
OFFICETWENTYFIVEARCHITECTS trying to create a friendly and sustainable building, designed a green roof garden as a place of communication, a social condenser,
where the users can spend quality time.
Clear lines combined with the organic shapes and green surfaces define a contemporary minimal architecture respecting the eco spirit of toady which is able to offer a new housing way.
