This project is about a rear extension as well as a side return of a house in Forest Hill, London.
There are two staircases in the house entrance, one leading you to the lower groundfloor and the other to the upper groundfloor. The family wanted an extension to both levels so that they could cover their needs.
We created a double-storey volume that added extra space to both lower and upper groundfloor. The one on the lower level serves as a dining area and has direct access to the rear garden via a stone patio. The space on the upper level serves as an additional bedroom that has direct view to the rear garden as well. The side return leaves room for the new kitchen. The materials we used are brick for the walls and zinc for the extension roof.
