This is a house in a touristic seaside village in the Halkidiki peninsula, called Neos Marmaras. There is nothing between the house and the sea, but a narrow road and a small park. So, the sea view is incredible, keeping in mind that the house faces towards the sunset.
We designed it, in order to take the most of the view, so the house is widely ‘open’ to its south west side. The site is inclined and faces two streets on the top and at the bottom level. There are three main house levels and a basement level below them. In the higher level we designed the entrance of the main house leading to the living room, the guest room the kitchen and a bathroom. An open staircase, takes us to the lower level where we find three bedrooms, two the bathrooms and the utility room. The lower level can be reached through the same staircase. In this level there is the exit to the front yard and out to the lower street, as well as, an indipendent studio of about 50m2.
White and grey colors on the facades, white marble in the exterior stairs and paths, were used.
Notable in this project, is that its structural system is actually on the outside of the actual building, forming an ‘exoskeleton’ made of concrete and painted white
