Hammocks in Concert

Under OFFICETWENTYFIVEARCHITECTS #lifeofanarchitect tag of the week, we time-travel forward to summer and to music concerts.

This year’s “120 Hours” Competition challenged architecture students from all over the world “to design a structure that manifested a new take on the problem of creating a sustainable architecture”.
The founders have collaborated with Norway’s biggest music festival, The Øya Festival in Oslo and they offered 5 days of real hard work to participants, so to create a communicative icon of sustainability for the festival grounds.

The winning proposal named “Architecture” is a light structure consisted of hundreds of hammocks from where the audience can enjoy their favorite bands. The juries declared their pick has won not only for fulfilling the demands of the competition but also for the playful character and for the limitless potential the structure may offers.
