OFFICETWENTYFIVEARCHITECTS have designed two two-story buildings and two single-family houses with mezzanines, pilotis, a communal space on the roof, and green roofs in Thermi, Thessaloniki.
The architecture and geometry of the buildings are simple yet distinctive. The primary design principle follows the natural lines of the plot, creating a gentle curve both in the floor plan and in elevation.
The aim was for the buildings to visually form a cohesive unit, distinguished by the horizontal lines of the balconies, while at the same time making the exterior walls of the buildings blend into the surroundings. This effect was achieved by using white for the balcony railings and other facade details, and anthracite for the recesses, exterior walls, and window frames.
The roof, as mentioned earlier, is planted, providing an additional green space for the residents to enjoy. The overall composition of the buildings integrates harmoniously with the environment, offering functional and aesthetically pleasing living spaces.
This project exemplifies combining form and function in a way that enhances both the visual appeal and the quality of life for the residents.
