The project is about a private residence in Kalloni, located in the island of Lesvos, Greece. Designing this residence was a challenging task, since the site is located inside a protected archeological site. OFFICETWENTYFIVEARCHITECTS’ intension was to design a house that meets the needs of the owner, minimizes its visual impact and radiates contemporary architecture. Three distinct
volumes define the design of the house. The choice of simple architectural lines, the large glass surfaces that “lighten” the building and the use of light olive green paint on the exterior walls met the requirements set from the beginning. The residence is developed in two levels and has also a basement. The ground floor hosts the living areas along with two bedrooms while on the upper floor one can find the master bedroom. The double height in the living room area allows the visual connection between the last and the master bedroom and lets the natural light in on both floors.
