The project is about a two storey private residence in Souroti, a small village located near Thessaloniki, Greece. As always we believe that less is more and that architecture should serve users’ purposes. That is exactly what we delivered in this case. Simple lines and geometry defined the design process. The architectural concept was to organize the residence, both functionally and morphologically, in two rectangular volumes placed vertically.
The ground floor volume includes all the living areas and three bedrooms, while the master bedroom is on the upper level volume. The living areas of the house have access to a green exterior space with a swimming pool, barbeque and an outdoor sitting area.
The house is white, so that its form stands out. Materials of special constructions, such as the wooden sun protection blinds and the metal elements, add details of color in house’s white canvas. In general, white dominates while anthracite was chosen for details such as recesses / semi-outdoor and aluminum frames.
